30042: Alphanumeric Sender ID is generic or unauthorized for this account
MESSAGING
ERROR
This error occurs when you send a message with an Alphanumeric Sender ID that is blocked for the destination because it is generic, suspicious, or not approved for use on your account. In countries where Sender ID registration is required, Twilio checks whether the sender is allowed before the message is sent.
- The
Fromvalue uses a generic Alphanumeric Sender ID that operators or local rules block for that destination. - The Alphanumeric Sender ID has not been registered or authorized for the destination country on this account.
- The
Fromvalue does not exactly match one of your registered Sender IDs for that country, which can leave you sending with a sender that is not authorized there.
- Use an Alphanumeric Sender ID that is specific to your brand instead of a generic term.
- Register the Sender ID or request authorization for the destination country before you send traffic there.
- Set a default Sender ID for countries that require registration so Twilio can replace a non-matching
Fromvalue with a compliant registered sender. - Review the destination SMS guidelines and confirm that your Sender ID follows the local registration and compliance requirements.
