MESSAGING
ERROR

This error occurs when you attempt an operation on an A2P 10DLC Brand or Campaign that your account isn't allowed to perform. Before you retry the request, review your account access, registration status, and API credentials.

Possible causes

possible-causes page anchor
  • Your account is missing a required permission for the A2P 10DLC Brand or Campaign operation you attempted.
  • You are using a Restricted API key that doesn't include the Messaging permission required for the endpoint you are calling.
  • The operation may depend on A2P 10DLC registration steps that aren't complete yet, such as an approved Brand, an associated Messaging Service, or a supported Campaign use case. Some use cases also require additional carrier review before they can be used.
  • The requested action requires account-level enablement or support assistance before it can be completed.
  • Confirm that your Brand is registered and approved before you create or manage an A2P 10DLC Campaign.
  • If you're adding a campaign to an existing Messaging Service, verify that the Service contains at least one Twilio 10DLC phone number in its Sender Pool before retrying.
  • If you authenticate with a Restricted API key, update the key to include the required Messaging permissions for the Brand or Campaign endpoint, or retry the request with credentials that have the necessary access.
  • If your Campaign use case requires additional review, wait for that review to complete before retrying the operation.
  • If the operation still fails, contact Twilio Support and include the Brand SID, Messaging Service SID, and the action you attempted so the required account access can be reviewed.
