60245: You have exceeded your messaging limits
VERIFY
ERROR
You have reached a rate limit or messaging volume limit for Verify. Twilio returns this error when your account, service, or destination has exceeded the allowed number of verification messages for a given period.
- Your Verify service has sent too many verification SMS or voice messages in a short time.
- A single phone number has received too many verification attempts.
- Your account has reached a platform-enforced limit designed to protect against fraud, abuse, or accidental overuse.
- Your application is retrying verification requests too aggressively.
- You are sending verifications without using rate limits or other abuse prevention controls.
- Reduce how often your application starts new verification attempts for the same user or phone number.
- Add retry backoff and avoid sending multiple verification requests in rapid succession.
- Review your Verify service settings and any application logic that could trigger repeated sends.
- Use Verify rate limits to control verification traffic by phone number, IP address, or other identifiers.
- If your use case requires higher throughput, review your Verify configuration and contact support if you need help evaluating your limits.
