This error occurs when you try to use or manage a Sender from a Twilio account that no longer owns it. The Sender was already onboarded or migrated to a different account.
- The Sender was onboarded to a different account.
- The Sender was migrated from one Twilio account to another.
- You are still creating, retrieving, or updating the Sender from the original account after the migration completed. Twilio creates and returns Senders within the account that owns them.
- Confirm which Twilio account now owns the Sender. Use that account for sender management and related configuration.
- If you need to move a WhatsApp sender between Twilio accounts, contact Twilio Support to request the migration.
- Include the phone number, the source
Account SIDand associatedWABA ID, and the destinationAccount SIDand associatedWABA IDin your support request. - Before you request the migration, make sure your business is verified on Meta. If the destination account already has a
WABAassociated with it, make sure both the source and destination accounts have WhatsApp senders. - If the Sender creation request succeeded but registration did not complete, review the Error Log in Console for the
Sender SIDand the recommended next steps. You can also monitor these failures with Alarms or Event Streams.
