80202: No Available Message Proxy

Twilio returns this warning when Proxy cannot assign an SMS-capable proxy number to a Participant. This usually means your Service does not have an available proxy number with messaging capability for the Session you created, or you did not set the Session mode in a country where a single number cannot support both voice and messaging.

• You tried to add a Participant to a Session that needs messaging, but your Proxy phone number pool does not include any SMS-capable numbers.
• You created a Session without setting mode, and Proxy could not find a compatible number in a country where numbers do not support both voice and messaging on the same number.
• The only proxy numbers currently available in your Service are voice-only or otherwise do not support messaging for this Participant.
• You expected Proxy to choose a number automatically, but your Service does not contain a compatible SMS-capable number for the Participant you are adding.

• Add one or more Twilio numbers with SMS capability to the Proxy Service phone number pool.
• Set the Session mode explicitly. Use message-only when the Session only needs messaging. Use voice-and-message only when your pool includes numbers that support both capabilities.
• If you already have a compatible SMS-capable number in the pool, pass proxyIdentifier or proxyIdentifierSid when you create the Participant so Proxy can use that specific number.
• Review the capabilities of the numbers in your pool for each country where you operate. In many countries, numbers support only voice or only SMS, so you may need separate numbers to support both channels.
