Allowlist

Internet Security. A curated selection of domains, email addresses, or IP addresses that a service or system has granted explicit access.

Systems, services, and apps use allowlists for access control. To attempt to access an account with an allowlist, a user must have the appropriate attributes and values. Allowlist had referred to a list of IP addresses allowed to send mail to a specific inbox provider. These email allowlists have fallen out of favor.

Allowlists in Twilio SendGrid

The Twilio SendGrid IP Access Management security feature uses of allowlists. If you add someone's IP address to an allowlist, they can access your Twilio SendGrid account.

Allowlist, not whitelist

You might encounter the term whitelist. The term allowlist replaces that term and eliminates any potential racial or cultural connotations associated with the earlier term.
