# A2P 10DLC Brand Registration

Register a legal entity (business or sole proprietor) to send 10 DLC messaging traffic in the US.

A2P (Application-to-Person) 10DLC (10-digit long code) is the standard that United States telecom carriers have put in place to ensure that SMS traffic to US end users through long code phone numbers is verified and consensual.

US telecom carriers consider any messages sent from a platform like Twilio to be application-to-person.

Anyone sending SMS/MMS messages over a 10DLC number from an application to the US must register for A2P 10DLC. Learn more about [US A2P 10DLC](/docs/messaging/compliance/a2p-10dlc).

## Why create a Brand?

Create a Brand so that you provide information about who is sending these messages so that carriers know you are a legitimate sender.

## Brand types

Twilio offers different A2P 10DLC Brand types, depending on the type of customer you are and the messaging volume and throughput you need. Review the following chart to determine the best Brand type for you or your customers. There are three different Brand types at Twilio:

* Sole proprietor brand
* Low Volume Standard Brand
* Standard Brand

To determine which A2P Brand is best for you, consider your current and expected messaging traffic volume.

## Brand fees

A one-time fee of $4.50 is required when registering a new Brand with TCR to establish it in the system.

In some cases, extra fees may apply for advanced services, such as deeper identity checks, appeals if your Brand is rejected, or special reviews required for sensitive use cases like political messaging.

## A2P 10DLC Brand Registration process

To create an A2P 10DLC Brand registration:

1. Navigate to **Products & Services** > **Trust Hub** > [**Registrations**](https://1console.twilio.com/us1/develop/trusthub/registrations/a2p-brands/brands).
2. Select the **A2P Brands** tab on the Registrations page.
3. Click **Create A2P Brand**.
4. Select whether to set up the Brand with an existing compliance profile or enter your business information manually.
